Brooks Malone works alongside custom home builders on new builds and renovations frequently. Egan Construction based in Kingsport is one that we’ve enjoyed dealing with on multiple projects. This relationship led to Brooks Malone being introduced by Egan to their clients – the Quillen family – and being selecteed to build not one – but two – pools!

The Quillen’s primary home was in Virginia, with a vacation home for family gatherings closer by on Boone Lake. We’ve built multiple pools for the same family before, but usually after they move to a new house and want another Brooks Malone pool. We were excited to build two in a row for the same family!

In Virginia, the pool site lies within a prestigious gated community overlooking the lush expanse of a golf course. We worked with the Quillens on creating a blend of subdued luxury and backyard tranquility that perfectly fit the site.

Here the Corinthian model by Latham Pools was selected. This classic shape with clean geometric lines is balanced with fun features like swim up seating and an integrated tanning ledge. It fit nicely, tucked right up against the house on the edge of the golf course.

The pool features an automatic retractable cover for added safety and energy efficiency. A large stamped concrete deck surrounds the pool and flows seamlessly into the existing covered patio on the back of the house. There’s plenty of room for sunbathing, entertaining, or just enjoying the serene golf course views.

Loungers on the tanning ledge make it easy to cool off with a good book & beverage on a hot summer day. We see more and more customers opting for a tanning ledge and adding loungers for a sophisticated look and extra comfort.

Over at the family vacation home on Boone Lake in Blountville, TN, another Latham fiberglass pool was selected – the Caribbean. This site offered more space and a larger, freeform pool was paired with with a separate Genesis/Synergy tanning ledge elevated slightly to create a spillover waterfall effect. Both units offer a soothing natural aesthetic with flowing organic lines that complemented the curving shoreline of the lake.

The pool area is accented with natural boulders and step treads, carefully blended with Belgard materials for a similarly organic look with coherent earthy tones. The choice of natural stone adds texture, while the Belgard pavers tie in perfectly with the surroundings for a cohesive and stylish design.

The pool feature’s Latham’s “Night Sky Classic” finish which adds a deep, soothing hue to further complement the breathtaking views and immersion in nature. There’s plenty of room for the whole family to relax and enjoy creating precious memories together.

Nestled along the water’s edge, this oasis is a standout feature of the property with thoughtful cohesive features enhancing the natural beauty of the site.

Thank you Quillen family for choosing Brooks Malone to build you not one – but two – backyard paradises at your exceptional homes!
